KRISTA JOHNSON

Krista is a local artist whose vibrant, representational paintings explore themes of regrowth, renewal and change. From gestural marks on paper to large layered canvas works, each painting is in response to a flower, a feeling, a colour, or memory of a moment or place. Each painting is a balance and inquiry between the spontaneous gestural marks when working from life and the layers of colours and memories when working from photographs
